Mortimer Mouse

He my favorite villain of the Mickey mouse character but to be honest I don’t really see him as that much of a villains except that one cartoon were her framed Mickey for stealing. I never got around to drawing him until now. And I’ve not just drawn one but many version of him from left to right;

Mr. Slicker- Mickey Mouse Dailies 1930

Mortimer- Mickey's Rival 1936

Montmorency (Monty) Rodent-Mickey comics 1941

Mortimer Mouse-Mickey Mouse Works 1999

Mortimer Mouse-Mickey Mouse Works Episode "Mickey and the Goatman"2000

Mortimer Mouse- House of Mouse 2001

---------------------------
Little Trivia
Walt was originally going to name Mickey, Mortimer, but his wife insisted on a new name. Mortimer also appeared in many Mickey Mouse comic in different regions but under another name Montmorency Rodent but the name didn't stick so he got his name Mortimer back and in animated series Mickey Mouse Works and House of Mouse, Mortimer got his catchphrase, "Ha-cha-cha!"

Their’s more trivia but this is all I'll give you.
-------------------------------

My Thoughts
Personally I love the House of Mouse version of Mortimer so much better his buck teeth and hat are removed and I believe he still has his tail it's probably tucked it in his pants like Mickey dose so I just drawn him a tail cause he looked good with it, pulse when ever he isn't tiring to put the move on Minnie, he's tiring to flirt with ever woman in the club with funny result he even tried to hit on Daisy Duck in the first episode!

This is a character who deserve a stronger role and I’d weird that there’s isn't much fanart or fanfics of him he's a pretty cool character. Sure he's a jerk but that's what I like about him it's like he's the opposite of Mickey.

Their is so much thing Disney can do with this guy but they are really neglecting him.

He can be Mickey allie which was shown in House of Mouse Episode "Mickey and the Culture Clash" even if it's so he can trick both Mickey a Minnie, plus their was an episode of Mickey's Mouse Works "Mickey Mix up" Mickey faxing Minnie a love letter but it went to Mortimer instead and he becomes friendly to Mickey only to be a jerk again when Mickey told him the fax was a mistake. LOL. But it's episode like these that makes you think of that what if scenario.

My what if scenario.
He may be a secondary rival to Mickey but stop and think about this one thought I have, what if he became a good guy and quite being a villain, how would the other villains of Mickey Mouse would take it? And more importantly how would Mickey take it? Seeing as how he never liked him to start with? That has been running in my head for a long time now of course in this idea I would have The Phantom Blot(not the Shadow Blot for Epic) and Pete uses Mortimer needs to be a good guy against him and to get Mickey.

Pairing and other thoughts on Mortimer
Mortimer can be paired with someone like Clarabelle Cow since their are three episodes of House of Mouse that shows their can be a relationship between them. I also thought of creating a Disney character to pair up with him.

I also wonder what he dose in he's spare time when he's not flirting with ladies and teasing Mickey or what would happen if he dog sits Pluto, heck he can have his own cartoon short.

Also I notice that he can just as well be a character for Kingdom Harts like a character who can be in-between good and evil or in this case the light and darkness.

I'm just so tempted to experiment with this character to see what I can do with him. Every one ells should too. this is a Disney toon who deserves attention.

Wow I really did allot of thought into this and you know I like it:)

Zaltag Animation 4 of 4

The last test, this one is dealing with Zaltags expressions and the transition from one face pose to the other.

I use a Mirror to look at my expression then draw it on Zaltag and exaggerate on some of them. Then I animate them. There are 20 different expressions I done on this there was more but I cut it down to 20.

This one took two weeks to do.
195 frame used to extending the pictures so you can see each of the expressions.
140 frame for the animation of the face changes from one expression to the other.

In total that 335 frames used.

Zaltag Animation 3 of 4

Two of four animations of Zaltag doing a series of movements. I this one show the animation of him hopping in stick from to rough animation to clean up and then to color.

The hop took 9 frames and 5 hours to animation and then I extend it to 40 frames so he can hop longer.

Despicable Me

My first Despicable Me fanart, Margo, Edith, and Agnes tackles Gru to the ground, and I couldn’t resist put Gru’s creepy dog Kyle.

I did this pic after I came back from seeing the 2D version of the movie yesterday, And yes I like it’s very well made film I’m planning to see the 3D one Monday.

I just couldn’t stop laughing at the jokes in this film and Gru and the Minions stole the show for me.

This film made it to number 3 of my top favorite animated films.

Nestor gets pranked

This is an concept art of that comic I was working on titled “A Prank to Far”

The smaller character in this next to Mayum the gorilla is a baboon name Brandon who’s sort of like the trouble making clown of the jungle and loves to pull practical jokes.

The plot
The plot of this story is that Brandon was pulling a prank but Nestor stopped him so now Brandon targets him for some pranks for revenge.

Later that day Nestor and Mayum got into a bit of an argument end in Nestor in insulting Mayum this was the perfect opportunity for Brandon plans and he talks Mayum into assisting him in pranking Nestor, agents his better judgment he agree to help unaware of Brandon revenge.

So basically though out the days Brandon and Mayum fallows Nestor everywhere pulling pranks on everyone Nestor is with and the victims blames him for it.

This Scene
In this pic Nestor got pelted with mangos by some female orangutans as a result of one of Brandon’s pranks. After he got away he went over to a near by pound to wash off, not knowing that Brandon and Mayum Were there and they took his clothes.

Nestor soon finds that his clothes are gone and gets mad after realizing it was Brandon, now he has to go home without being seen.

Brandon and Mayum are hiding behind a tree and some bushes watching the whole scene, Brandon was trying so hard not to laugh out load and Mayum was at all pleased with this prank but couldn’t resist laughing.

I decided to post all three parts of the art from sketch to finish.

Megacon

I have been waiting and saving up the money to go to Megacon I now I got too go.
For thoses who don't know Megacon is a convention featureing science fiction/fantasy, anime, gaming, toys, multi-media events and artist.

Day 1 Friday
The first day was kind of hectic with finding a parking cause of how full it was it had to park in a another convention spot and walk all the way over plus there was a rain shower. but I got there alright.

Upon entering the building I see some people dress in costumes they were pretty cool. but when I enter the entrains way I got the shock of my life. They had the Ecto 1 from GhostBusters sitting right their in all it's glory so as a GB Fan I be and idiot not to take photos of it along with some other GB stuff there.

I walked around for a bit look at some of the cool things they have I went over to the Art Institute booth and try out this Wacom Cintiq.

After my little walk I head over to Art Alley to find Richard Gaine we got to see each other and chat he ever did a pic of Slasher for me and I'm going to be draw a pic of one of his bat character Zap and hand it to him the next day I also buy his two comics and one form his friend Justin ( ) who he recommended me to see. they both share a booth.

This was a good first day.

Day 2 Saturday
I went back to magacon it was more crowded then Friday, I saw some more people in costumes some were good some weren’t as good, I when over to art alley for a bit then when all over the con hitting the comic books booths.

I got lucky that day over at the coliseum of comics booth there were giving away four comics for free so I pick up some then I went over to another booth and got a comic for only 25 cents it was a old comic from back in the days but it was still good I then strolled over to a both were they were sailing some old toys and figure for a dollar each I got two toys for two dollars and near the end of the day I went to one more comic both and found the new comic book of Casper that was released last year I got it for only one dollars.

After my little shopping and costume photo safari I meet up with Richard Gaine again and gave the pic of Zap to him and we left to meet up with other artists and eat at a restaurant and chat for a while it was a perfect end to a great day.

Day 3 Sunday
The last day of Megacon. Surprisingly the traffic going up was light. The convention room was like it was Friday not as crowded, I tried some other Comic book vendors and found some Spiderman comics for a good price, I also talk with some other artist.

I went back to the Ecto-1 and got a photo of myself next to it and I went back to the Art Institute booth and did another drawing on the Wacom Cintiq.

After I was done I went over to Art Alley again to talk to more artist before it was time to go, I went over to Richard and Justin's both to get a photo of us and to say good bye.

My closing thoughts on Megacon:
This was a truly fun experience for me, I get to meet other artist fond some awesome thing and saw some well made stuff and fans in costumes, I'm defiantly going to go back to Megacon in the future.

I'll be posting up some photos later but for now here is a photo of me and my friends from DA.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

It's March 2nd it's Seuss’s b-day. Theodor Seuss Geisel aka Dr. Seuss is now 106 years old.

Thank you Dr. Seuss for all the books you have written, the cartoon special and artwork that inspired me over the years.

Elephant Cat

Those of you who are true hard core Seuss fans will know very well that Seuss makes many different creatures and hybrids of characters. He practically created his own zoology and this is proved in all his book and sculptures.

This drawing I did is one of my most favorite of the Seuss zoology The Elephant cat, I seen this guy in the book "If I Ran the Zoo" and the cartoon special "The Hoober-Bloob Highway"
